Encyclopedia of Religion entry forAetiansThe followers of Aetius. Ordained deacon at Antioch A.D. 350, he was expelled on account of his Arian views. He returned in 358, but in 360 the Emperor Constantius summoned him to Constantinople and then banished him to Phrygia.
