A term used by Dr. Inge to denote the denial of reality to the visible world and the assertion that the only existence is " the intelligible world of ideas " in the mind of God. Examples of this attitude Acts of the Saints or Martyrs are the Neoplatonists, the mystic Eckhart, and the philosopher Spinoza.
